Gangster

Here is yet another drawing of someone which in the end turned out looking completely different from the person. It was supposed to be Steve Carell from the office, but it doesn't look to much like him. I think the drawing itself looks pretty gangster though.

The Japanese Hair Bird

This is my first watercolor painting. I did it in my sketch book. I like how it came out. Then I used my brothers pens to help with the shading. My camera is not great, and the paper is to big to scan, but you get the idea. I also learned a lot about watercolor from my mistakes (see right eye :)).

I'm Still Here

I haven't disappeared. I have been doing lots of sketches, and just got a sketch book. Here is my first drawing from it.

Clooney?

I tried to do a drawing of George Clooney today. It didn't turn out looking like him, but I learned a lot doing it. I'm going to start doing some political sketches. Stuff related to the news.

Alan Kolter

I've got some more drawings! 1st is Alan Kolter from David Letterman, 2nd is an attempt at a self portrait, which looks nothing like me :), and 3rd is a made-up face using colored pencils. The colors on the third one look way better in person, unfortunately I did it on lined paper but that's OK.

Ahggg

I blog like a mad man on the weekends. This is a charactature. I wanted to draw Paul Shaffer, but a couple minutes in I just went off, and made this guy.

The Last in Painting

Heres a painting of that last drawing I did in painter. About 35 minutes, using the artist oils brushes.

From Photo

This one was very fast for me. I don't remember how long, maybe 7 or 8 minutes. Its the first I've done from a reference like this.

A Contest

There's a contest over at the Gnomon workshop. Winner gets 40 of their DVDs. There are also 4 runner ups. I want to enter, if I place at least 5th I get 2 DVDs and can get that Bob Kato painting DVD I have been wanting. I did a terrible sketch just to put some ideas down. The theme is "Dearly Departed". You probably can't tell whats going on from my sketch, but it's going to be really cool, kind-of political cartoony.

Not Quite

I made some attempts at painting. Neither are finished, but I have a better idea of how I am going to do my next paintings. I'm not sure if I'll finish these two. Both are seen in an earlier post just as drawings.

I'm A Magician

This guy looks like he would say that. In that case me and him share a past time, because I enjoy magic as well. Painter, 30 minutes. This one took longer, but I like how it came out more. I have got to start painting though, these black and white sketches are only the beginning.

A Person

Heres a new drawing. I started on paper, then scaned and traced it in Painter, then did some shading on a medium color background. By the way, you can click the images on here to see the full resolution version.

Wowzers, more sketches!

Heres some more sketches. All done in painter, about 15 minutes. I was playing with the glow brush for the lighting on that first one. The second is just silly. I like the last, I detailed the eyes more, trying to draw the viewer into the character; I learned that from a DVD by Bob Kato.

Robot Parade

Ive got two drawings today. The first is another robot design, maybe I will have a go at painting it too. The second is just a quick 15 minute sketch.

Daily Sketch

It's a cliche killer robot. All done in painter, which by the way, is tons of cool.

Stuff

I haven't made a post in a while. I've worked some on my animation skills. I did a sketch, try rotating 90 degrees both ways, it really changes the mood.

A Quick Sketch

So I have been working hard on that walk cycle, and figured I couldn't leave you guys, my loyal but absent fans, deprived of my beautiful artwork for the entire time I am working on this animation. So I sketched up this supplementary drawing real fast. By the way, I notice that the image in my last post isn't showing up. I think imageigloo.com is down, hopefully they will come back up soon, because I have quite a few of my images hosted there. Oh well, back to blogger hosting for images.

Old Sketch

I found this sketch I did a while back. I'm going to try to animate a simple walk cycle with it. I'll be back soon as I finish.

Finished, Oh boy!

I finished that last drawing, check it out. If anyone reads this, tell me what ya think.

Patton Oswalt

I was listening to a Patton Oswalt CD, and he had this very funny track about how he saw a man shaving his balls. It was just so descriptive that I decided I had to make a drawing. It's not done yet, it needs some texture, a background, and shading, but here is what I have so far.

Color

Experimenting with colors and textures, I made this dude totally within Photoshop.

The Second most post of our journey

I've been practicing my drawing skills, because I need to be able to do concept sketches of my characters. I call this one "Peggy and Beanie". Oh, by the way, the first film I plan on working on is called "Igloo Beneath the Northern Cosmos". It's based off a short story I wrote. Click the image to view high-res.

The Premiere Post

This is my blog. I am making a animated short film, and will have sketches and what-not up here as frequently as I can. This will be my first real animation project. Before this I made a short 3d animation for the Heinz top this contest which can be seen here: http://stage6.divx.com/user/Bigeastern/video/1513866/Heinz
(requires divx)
